Cayo Coco Cuba
The island of Cayo Coco, Cuba is known for its lavish resorts and miles of white sand beaches. Along with the Varadero beaches, it's one of the most popular travel destinations in Cuba. Cayo Coco Cuba isn't filled with bustling night-life or busy attractions. It's a very laid-back island perfect for any tourist looking for some peace and quiet rather than constant activity. If you are planning on visiting Cuba to see Cuban lifestyle or culture, this isn't really the place to do that. Locals are not allowed on the island unless they are employed there, so it's strictly a tourist-only enclave. Getting There It's off the north-central coast of Cuba, and part of the Jardine del Rey island chain. Though it's an island, you can drive to Cayo Coco by way of the long causeway built to connect the island with the rest of Cuba. If you don't plan on driving, there is an airport right on the island for easy access by air. The Jardines del Rey Airport is minutes away from most of the resorts, though you'll need to arrange a shuttle because there is no other transportation on the island. It's a fairly busy airport, and has a full range of typical travel amenities like shops, a restaurant and a bank. Many international flights come directly to Cayo Coco, or you can arrange a domestic flight from other parts of Cuba.
Cuban beaches are excellent for vacations all around the island coast, not just in Cayo Coco. The ones on this island cater to the "all-inclusive" type of vacation so you don't need to leave the island. Just sit back and enjoy the sun.
